To reduce dependence on coal and pollution generated by thermal plants, RVUNL had planned to develop a 2,000MW solar plant. The state government had allocated 4,846 hectares in Poogal tehsil for the project. While the 1,190MW capacity plant is being set up by Coal India, RVUNL will develop a 810MW project.
